My Health

A lot of you know that I've been going to the hospital this week. I'd been having some minor complications and so decided I should give in and go to the hospital. They were able to tell me I have a Kidney infection. I took two nights of antibiotics via IV and I'm still on the way to recovery. I'm now just taking some pills twice a day for the next week. Hopefully I can remember to do so.

One great thing about my visit was that they were able to test my blood to see if I have Factor Five. Factor Five is a blood clotting disease and my sister had this which is why she ended up passing because of a blood clot in her lung. I was nervous for two days as they processed my blood. I thought for sure I had it but last night the doctor said I was negative!! This made me really happy. Being over weight like I am, I already know I have tons of complications coming at me if I don't get this under control right away.

So, to go along with the whole weight thing, my roommate, a friend, and I have decided to join weight watchers. We haven't gone yet, probably tomorrow for our first day, but we're really excited. I hope that this can help me have success and support. I'm excited to see if it works.

Speaking of roommates, the two I have a friend and I are all going to be moving in the next month to a house that we're pretty sure we got to rent. We're very excited about this and not having to live in apartments any longer. Plus, this is in a much quieter neighborhood and off of small streets.

Nothing else is really going on in my life but I thought I'd at least put up an update. Until next time....

Goodness Mallory I hope you made it out ok with that infection! Your post is from October so a lot of time has gone by...which also begs the question, how is weight watchers going? I'm very familiar with the program and I have some friends who have had a lot of success with it. And that reminds me, one of my blog entries in the near future will be about weight and health, stay tuned.
